Praxis

Praxis Venture is a boutique private equity group and business accelerant based in New Jersey, USA and Tel Aviv, Israel. Founded and led by Doron Cohen, a serial entrepreneur and well-known visionary in the field of Business Information (BI) Technology, Praxis is comprised of a global, highly effective team of senior, experienced and successful entrepreneurs from the worlds of technology and finance.

Praxis’ portfolio consists of both its own startups, and opportunistic acquisitions that are synergistic with its core portfolio. Praxis’ initial consulting mandate came at the behest of the senior management of the Dun & Bradstreet Corporation (“D&B”), to act as a business accelerant in driving outcomes throughout D&B worldwide. Praxis has since expanded from its core Business Information/Business Data sector to a variety of business acceleration, capital formation and turnaround assignments that have called upon its experience and expertise in the fields of Financial Services, Internet, Telecommunications, Alternative Energy and Real Estate.

Doron Cohen, Praxis’ founder, chairman and CEO was born in Israel and has lived in the U.S. for over 28 years. During his career he has been on both sides of the “M&A“ table and has served as a hands-on investor/manager in a wide variety of ventures ranging from real estate to high tech and alternate energy technologies. In 2008 Mr. Cohen and Praxis co-founded Digital Trowel, one of the world’s leading text-mining and semantic web companies, where Mr. Cohen serves as both CEO and Chairman. Mr. Cohen, who also serves as Chairman of Dun & Bradstreet (Israel) and D&B Consumer Credit Bureau (Israel), is an active, hands-on-investor/manager of high tech, BI and alternative energy ventures, with over 30 years of experience in companies of all sizes. In 2002, he launched the Focus Group, a boutique private equity group that has invested in several BI Technology companies, including D&B Israel, Trusted Partners Inc. and Togasoft Solutions. Previously, Mr. Cohen was founder and CEO of Fidelity Holdings, a Russell 2000 Nasdaq-listed company with over 600 employees and $400m in revenues. He is also the co-founder and Executive Chairman of Helius Corp., an alternative energy venture. From 1975 to 1982, he served in the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) in its Technology Division where he achieved the rank of Captain.
